Village Opens New Dementia Care Unit
Park Place Village Retirement Community of Camarillo is
pleased to announce the opening of our Dementia Care Unit:
The Sanctuary.
Responding to a community need and to advance our mission of
service to seniors, The Sanctuary Dementia Unit opened in
August 2005. The Unit operates 24-hours per day with Nursing
care. Our staff provides compassionate care that is
considerate of the independence and dignity of our clients.
Dementia is a progressive decline in cognitive function that
can have many causes. Symptoms include disorientation,
difficulty with memory, language, attention and
problem-solving. This can be frustrating for the affected
individual and an emotional and financial struggle for
family members.
Now, there is a compassionate and family-oriented option.
Residents and family members can be assured that the highest
quality of life is our goal. We believe that quality care in
a secure and stimulating atmosphere will meet that goal.
Park Place Village Retirement Community, a non-profit
organization established in 1990, is a full service Assisted
and Independent Living Community. Residents live in private
apartments but enjoy a variety of services to make things a
bit easier.
The recent opening of “The Sanctuary”, Park Place Village
Retirement Community’s dementia center, has added a new
dimension of services. The Sanctuary provides 24-hour
Nursing care to the elderly affected by a variety of
dementia related conditions.

Park Place Village Retirement Community of Camarillo is
pleased to announce the launch of a new information source
for individuals and families seeking alternatives for
Assisted Living and Elder Care.
With the assistance of Black Star Graphics of Moorpark, The
Park Place Village Retirement Community Web site (parkplacevillageretirementcommunity.org)
is now live and available. The Web site features information
about the facility, services and issues facing the elderly.
Pictures offer examples of the living environment and
resident activities.
